Asus N10: netbook luxury or entry ultraportable range?

For his netbook “high end”, Asus Eee abandons the mark: the N10, did little in common with netbooks, nor the nature nor the price.

This ultraportable, qu’Asus is preparing to officially unveil (already shown by the boss of Asus last month), is clearly professionals and a more demanding performance. The Taiwanese manufacturer therefore proposes, for N10, a luxury box with 10.2-inch screen, webcam 1.3 million pixels, biometric reader, ExpressCard port, 3 USB ports, and even HDMI port.

For prices ranging from $ 650 (slightly more than the price of a current 1000H Eee PC) and more than 1000 dollars, different configurations of the N10 could see the day. They have nothing to envy some laptops mid-range: Atom N270 Intel processor at 1.6 GHz, 1 or 2 GB of RAM, 160, 250 or 320 GB hard drive (5400 rpm) and even a graphics card Nvidia GeForce 9300 GS with 256 MB of memory for the most expensive model.

The machine should work with Windows Vista Business. Equipped with a standard 6-cell battery, the N10 offer a range of 6 hours and a half.

The marketing of Asus N10 is expected to start in Asia as early as September.
