HTC S740: non-touch screen, but double keyboard

Taiwanese manufacturer HTC has announced the S740, professional smartphone running Windows Mobile-piece format, with a non-touch screen. The S740 offers two keyboards, digital classic and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Gone is the design of another age and bulky gauge its predecessor, the S730: The S740 adopts the style compact, dark and angular, initiated with Touch and Diamond Touch Pro.

With its full keyboard, S740 is therefore much closer to the Pro Touch in terms of features and intensive use of messaging, tactile interface Touch Flo 3D set aside. Its facade bears a profile rather classic mobile phone: 2.4-inch screen not touch the resolution QVGA overlooking a small keypad. Despite its relatively modest thickness (16.3 mm), the S740 hides a full QWERTY keyboard that is made to slide horizontally.

Compatible with 3G (up to 7.2 Mbps), the S740 also loads connectivity WiFi 802.11b / g, a GPS receiver (compatible A-GPS) and a photo sensor of 3.2 million pixels.

It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1, the HTC S740 is equipped with a Qualcomm processor of 528 MHz and 256 MB of RAM. Side storage, 256 MB ROM are available, and scalable with a microSD memory card (compatible microSD HC). The battery of 1000 mAh ensure, in accordance with HTC, more than 5 hours in 3G communication.

The HTC S740 will be marketed in Europe during the month of September at a price of 449 euros excluding subscription.
