Palit today unveiled the Radeon HD 4870 Dual Sonic Edition, equipped with a cooling system with two fans and a dual BIOS. These specifications are in sight overclocking. The latter is not put into action by software but is hard at the card itself, through a switch that causes the BIOS card to another. Thus, the card works by default, Sonic Fashion, at 750 MHz for the GPU and 950 MHz for the memory GDDR5. The smart switch lets you go in Turbo mode, which operates the GPU at 775 MHz and 1 GHz memory. Although the system has the advantage of not requiring any software, overclocking is not dynamic and we must restart the machine to move from one mode to another. The system allows double ventilation to cool properly the entire map, the left, regulated, taking care of the processor and memory, the right-charging him about the food in four phases.

And beyond these new specifications, the card is compatible with CrossFire technology, supports HDCP and has two DVI connectors, a DisplayPort connector and an HDMI connector via an adapter. No official announcement has yet been made regarding the price or the date of availability of this card, but the latter is already present in the catalogue of Palit, we can therefore expect to find on their shelves shortly.
