The first official beta of Opera 9.5 for Windows Mobile

Already integrated with HTC Diamond, the 9.5 version of Opera Mobile is available for all terminals tactile market… on Windows Mobile. Too bad for users of the system Symbian UIQ: to retake it later.
What’s new? A menu much more user-friendly and clean first: the model to be copied seems now respond to sweet name “Mobile Safari.” His menu east was reduced to its simplest expression: address bar at the top of the screen, a toolbar at the bottom (including bookmarks, preferences, etc.).. Opera 9.5 is faster: this is indisputable. It loads pages quickly and, as standard, full-screen. The navigation is done using the movements of a finger, just like Safari. A pressure on the screen generates a zoom, efficient. Anxious standards and compatible “Ajax”, it is an immediate response to acute shortages of Internet Explorer browser: it is not a coincidence that HTC has chosen to equip its Diamond. Finally, it allows you to store documents, ranging from Web pages to images.
Is it compatible Flash? Not in the public beta version, although some recent versions of Opera 9.5 for Diamond are. The beta still has some shortcomings: no ActiveX control, no video integrated into the pages, only compatibility with terminals touch, English language only. However, a simple consultation of some forums as XDA Developers enough to fill the gaps in the official beta version.
Bet that its “user agent” will be rapidly taken into account by the major players in mobile Internet, as Google and Yahoo!. We need to go through Internet Explorer Mobile to install applications like Gmail or Google Maps, Opera Mobile 9.5 is still visibly associated with a desktop browser by servers recognition of Google.
This beta version is free, but nobody knows at what it is charging or economic model will be adopted by the publisher, in an environment increasingly competitive where even Firefox is preparing to unveil a mobile version quickly exploitable “Mr. everyone.” Windows Mobile only. UIQ later?
If the unavailability of Opera 9.5 is not a problem on Nokia S60 mobile - remember that S60 Browser is based on Webkit, the engine of Safari - the unavailability on UIQ is more boring. Users of smartphones Sony Ericsson and Motorola have always had to buy a new device to receive a new version of Opera. Currently, the version 8.65 which equips terminals UIQ is also clever little Internet Explorer on some sites evolved, even mobile. Bet that this time an effort will be made toward users of UIQ, fewer and fewer… lack of terminals.
