Asus misses its objectives

We’ll talk yesterday of the impressive success of Medion in Germany on his first day, today is Asus who speaks and the result was not the same … Asus has set the bar high enough relying on EEA 2 million PCs sold. Finally, they still registered 1.7 million sales what is still a respectable result especially with their political amazing.
The reasons are more than clear. First, the competition has become much more aggressive and MSI and Medion are formidable opponents, as will most probably Gigabyte. But give them full responsibility would forget a little faster than the 901 remains a big favorite in the race for best Netbook through a configuration well suited to the sector with an interesting compromise between discretion and comfort and the best currently autonomy.
No, this half-failure is to look elsewhere, perhaps on the side of Asus itself?
Having announced the EEE PC 900 while 700 was not yet on sale was already surprising. But what about the announcement of 901 while 900 was not yet on sale? May 1000, before 901 … Not to mention declinations 90x … The evolution between 700 and 901, due mainly to an optimization of the configuration taking into account both the technologies available (C7 First Atom very recently) and expectations of users requesting a little more comfort level of the screen and keyboard. But since the 901, the agitation does not seem to falter and start to really look at filling.
Anyway, Asus had probably anticipated the effect on sales because they feel satisfied and confident in the future of their brand. Let us hope for them that with their communication turning vaguely around the mode effect and misusing of the buzz, the wave of interest for range EEE is not blown before one can see a principal model extirpating oneself of their number…
