Apple Developer Conference (WWDC): what should we expect?

Today is the opening of the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) Apple in San Francisco. The traditional “keynote” Steve Jobs, which culminated should be the announcement of the new generation iPhone, is only the beginning of a crucial event in the Apple universe, which lasts a week.
This year, and this is a first in the history of Apple, the WWDC 2008 edition is sold out. Apple has managed to bring four corners of the world no less than 5000 developers who will gather at Moscone Center in San Francisco from 9 am on Monday, of course, follow the presentation of Steve Jobs But also enjoy a full week dedicated to Apple and the Mac developments and now iPhone.
Of the 5000 participants, it would appear that France is represented fairly low with only 180 people. It also appears that among these 180 french, Visuamobile is one of the few companies specialized on the iPhone present. But apart from the “keynote” during which major announcements were made by Mr Jobs in person (2 iPhone, most likely), how is the WWDC?
It is above all a week dedicated to developers who may, through nearly 150 sessions and various workshops ( “sessions and labs” in English), meet and talk with engineers from Apple on its technologies (kits developments or SDK, operating systems Leopard, Leopard Server and iPhone, etc.)..
A third sessions devoted to the iPhone
This year, we can see that about one third of these sessions concern the iPhone. It regrets, however, that no session would be devoted to the distribution of applications on the AppStore, the platform “iTunes like” dedicated to the distribution and sale of software for iPhone and iPod Touch. The WWDC, then it is a good way for developers to come forward, distribute business cards and make contacts with other participants. It is also the possibility to exchange directly with those responsible for the apple to submit expectations and wishes.
Finally, by the often innovative guidance Apple WWDC is an opportunity to identify major trends to come, in the sphere of innovation high-tech and information technology.
