The pirates to conquer the platform Nokia N-Gage?

The economic model of the platform Nokia N-Gage would have already under the threat of piracy? The British site Pocketgamer think so.

It moves on the side of the platform for downloading mobile games Nokia N-Gage, but perhaps not in the sense intended by Nokia, despite the presence of a system protected by DRM. Last week, a first wind had blown anger when some users had found that the N-Gage games purchased are linked to a Nokia terminal unique and can not be transferred to a new machine.

At each renewal of Nokia mobile should therefore buy new mobile games. After some wrangling, it seems that the Finnish giant is trying to find a technical solution to appease the spirits.

But according to the English site Pocketgamer, a much more serious threat hangs over the service in place for less than two months: the possibility of piracy of securities. First, it appears that some have found ways to run the application N-Gage, which allows access the service from a terminal Nokia, S60 models other than those imposed by the manufacturer, ostensibly to performance reasons terminals.

Thus, a forum provides a link to the application modified to operate on models like the Nokia E65, 5700 XpressMusic, N73, N71, E51, 6110 and 6210c, with an installation in a few steps. But more importantly, forums offer pirated versions of several N-Gage games, including System Rush Evolution, Mile High Pinball, Space Impact: Kappa Base, Asphalt 3: Street Rules and Hooked On: Creatures from the Deep.

That could pose a serious problem quickly for the sustainability of the service, despite the presence of a protected by DRM, which is once again more burdensome for the legitimate user for the cracker.
