HTC, a specialist terminals Windows Mobile, expected to reach the upper range of its forecast of growth in 2008.
The strategy of visibility, with transforming the image of a discreet OEM manufacturer to the foundation of a brand in its own right, developed by HTC past few years, strengthened in 2007 and this year, could begin to bear fruit.
The company believes that it will get an increase in sales of around 30% in 2008, which corresponds to the range of high growth estimated by analysts. “We are on track to reach the top of the range of our expectations,” explained Peter Chou, president, Reuters at the conference TMT (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) from Tokyo.
This success, if necessary, will be put once more in credit demand from emerging markets, a sector that has spread HTC to offset the slowdown in sales of mobile observed on established markets.
Emerging Markets and strengthening R & D
The Taiwanese group hopes to increase by 60 to 70% its sales in China and more than 100% on the side of India, particularly dynamic markets and whose economic health now enables a portion of the population to afford terminals more advanced.
HTC will of course build on its newest, PDAPhone HTC Touch Diamond, presented in London on May 6, 2008, which will be marketed as early as June in Europe and will also be launched later in Japan, China, India and the USA.
With its performance and its revamped interface tactile TouchFLO 3D, combined with attractive subsidies operators and a wide dissemination among the latter, the HTC Touch Diamond could run out 3 million copies by the end of the year.
But HTC does not rest on its laurels: Peter Chou also said to increase by 10 to 15% investment
