Test LG KF600

After a lull following the triumph of his Viewty, LG returns with a new mobile, KF600. Rather than follow the route mapped out by his predecessor, the new model rather explore a track left fallow since the family of Chocolate, that of touch-sensitive keys.

The latest comes in a small cardboard box and colorful quite pretty. It contains everything needed for a good start with the phone. In addition to the shipper, there are different references, and kit handsfree wired into two parts, with an output jack 3.5mm. This helps to connect the headphones of their choice rather than the pitiful headphones supplied by the manufacturer.

It regretted the lack of a microSD memory card, the internal memory of 25 MB is really limited. On the technical side, the camera is pretty well filled. Compatible Edge, it offers two screens. The top is a classic but very good. It displays 2.2 inches, 262000 colors and a resolution of 240×320. The second screen is more original because it is actually touch. The InterActPad is its name, replacing the directional pad that typically found on mobile phones. We describe his duties a step further.

Belles lines
LG has no lesson to receive any person in terms of design. This is true even with this KF600. The mobile has a front smooth, free of any button. Once the phone switched on, we realize that the two screens up. The template motive is reasonable, with dimensions and a weight that makes you forget quickly at the bottom of a pocket (101 x 51 x 14.1 mm 107g). A strapping chrome covers the entire periphery of the slider. The latter provides a quality manufacturing correct, but no more. Finally, the rear is covered with a soft touch coating. The wallpapers in standby mode are particularly well thought has occupied since both the top screen and the bottom, for a particularly successful record. The fingerprints are however still at the party on the large surface before.

InterActPad
The originality of the most striking KF600 is without doubt the presence of sensitive touch pad. Admittedly, the Chocolate and Samsung E900 launched the mode of keys some years ago but the latest LG is closer to the Samsung E950 in spirit. This mobile was the first to induce a touch pad controls to contextual. LG has incorporated this principle in the sublimating. The lower part of KF600 change depending on function in which you move. If the impact is not clear for navigation usual, it is however obvious for multimedia. For photos for example, when you zoom in, the top screen displays the part you while the bottom touch therefore, shows the image small and in its entirety. We can change the detail area just by pressing elsewhere on the touchpad. Similarly, in music, when you are reading a song, Hot Keys audio appears in the touch pad, and you can even forward or back at the desired position of the song with just the finger.

However, although rather pleasant to use, the touch pad is nothing much a revolutionary use of a mobile. Worse, it takes some time to get used to its use. There is no obstacle to the use of mobile but it does not more comfortable with a cross classic.

Multimedia meets
The other functions of KF600 are classics and complete. The mobile module features a digital photo of 3 megapixel autofocus. The pictures it provides are very good outdoors and provided that the subject of the photograph is not in motion. In the internal flash is average and not allow me pictures of quality. In short, these are the usual limitations of most digital cameras on mobile. Even topo for videos. The KF600 does nothing better than a resolution of 320×240 pixels. Ca administrator, but nothing more. Although it is based on more conventional player, the music is doing better. It allows you to create your own playlists and delivers a sound pretty good. To take full advantage, remember to plug your own headphones (provided in the kit), rather than the original earphones.

VERDICT:
In conclusion, it is quite difficult to pronounce itself on this LG. The KF600 only suffers from any major flaw: design, multimedia features, simplicity and self-reliance in the same medium, it seemed to have it all for him. That leaves us is rather dubious fetching on the side of the touch pad system, the famous InterActPad. Again, not much to him but a thing anyway, as described previously, the system is not worth the cross usual motives. It’s up to you to see whether this successful innovation in the aesthetic and functional enough tempt you because it added nothing fundamentally new and the user loses a little in ergonomics. Too bad.
