How To Replace NOKIA 6126 LCD

I044 LCD for Nokia 6126 6133 6131

Did Someone have experience on cell phones lcd screen broken? How do you deal with it? You buy a new one and discard the old? It’s too extravagant, why not repair it yourself? According to the method described below, you will find it’s not so difficult. The guide is for NOKIA 6126, it also for NOKIA 6133 / 6131. You can purchase a packag include an I044 LCD screen, manual CD and a pair of tools on eBay, this all cost about $30.
Now we will start the procedure.

1. Protect all windows with protective film against dust and scratches.

2. Open the phone and place it on the table sideways.

3. Carefully lift up the lower side of the DISPLAY BEZEL.

4. Remove the DISPLAY BEZEL. Starting from the shown position up to the earpiece section.

5. Remove both Rubber Stoppers with tweezers.

6. Protect the inner side of the lower block.

7.Gently unlock the A-COVER from the backside.

8. Now, release the underneath snaps

9. Do the same procedure at the long sides of the A-COVER.

10. Now,remover the A-COVER by sliding it around 4mm to the shown direction and then lift it up.

11. Carefully open the two flex connectors.

12. Release the two hooks which hold the LCD PWB into place.

13. Lift the board only a bit and open the flex connector carefully in the shown direction.

14. Unlock the four clips with hold the MAIN LCD SCREEN.

15. Now can remove the MAIN LCD SCREEN

16. Put the new LCD SCREEN into the B-COVER guides.

17. Place the PCD PWB and pay attention to the flex connectors.

18. Check that the snaps are closed.
replace LCD 19th step
19. Carefully close the two flex connectors without touching the CAMERA.
replace LCD 20h step
20. Put the A-COVER to the right guides first.
replace LCD 21st step
21. Then press down and lock the other underneath snaps.
replace LCD 22nd step
22. Place the two RUBBER STOPPERS.
replace LCD 23rd step
23. Exactly position the DISPALY BEZEL. Start on the top (earpiece section) by sliding in the bezels’ hooks to the B-COVER, press gently all over the bezel to ensure that whole part adhere properly.
replace LCD finishNow the replacement of LCD SCREEN is finished. You can place the SIM card and bettery in. Power on the phone and waiting for that exciting moment.

I did all this and it worked! BUT, then I put the sim chip in and it wouldn’t recognize it and I used another sim chip and the same thing happened. Any idea why this didn’t go perfectly?

My situation is slightly different. I have two Nokia 6126’s one with damaged outer screen and a none functional main display, the second a water damaged unit that I was planning scavenging the entire flip top assembly and attaching it to the first phone. Any one familiar and willing to share advice about the Ribbon cable that connects the 2 halves of the phone? Thanks -Ulli

This is great.Ive been hard on a few 6126’s and i had extra parts from old otherwise damaged phones.Was gonna try to flip out the LCD on my own with no guide.Lol.With this i did it in 15 min. before work.
